The upcoming massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) is a project that has been in the works for 5 years, until the Elder Scrolls Online Release Date was announced back in May 2012.
“The Elder Scrolls Online” is set apart from the other installments released in Playstation and Xbox platforms. The Player vs Player arenas will let you earn points and keeps, to work your way up into becoming the ruler of the entire kingdom as Emperor of Cyrodiil. Players will be able to navigate through the continent of Tamriel, where factions will be available for playrs to join. The factions are separated into the Aldmeri Dominion, Daggerfall Covenant, and the Ebonheart Pact. However, it was revealed that custom factions may also be made by players.
The story starts during the Interregnum when Daedric Prince Molag Bal tries to conquer Tamriel to include it into his realm of Coldharbour. “Dark Anchor” devices are sent to Tamriel, to which Fighters Guild try to bring these out of the land. The rulers of Cyrodiil was said to have made a deal with the King of Worms, Mannimarco to resurrect killed Imperial soldiers. The Soulless One will be the hero who will return them to life.
The online version is set 800 years before The Elder Scrolls III: Oblivion. Meanwhile, as compared to the latest installment, the online game is set 1 millennium prior to The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.
Players may choose between four classes that will be categorized according to special abilities. These are: The Dragonknight, Templar, Sorcerer and Nightblade. Mundus Stones will enable players to have special abilities, and fast travelling and time-travel will be available upon unlocking quests. After reaching level 50, players may receive Veteran Points.
It was revealed during their Elder Scrolls Online Release Date announcement that players may opt to choose to play solo, but developers said that offline mode will not be available. The MMORPG will be similar to the previous installments, wherein players follow a nonlinear gameplay, unlock quests, and explore worlds. Like the previous games, players will be able to fulfill random events and explore on one’s own pacing.
The game landscape of Cyrodiil was said to be similar to the one in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. An expansion pack will be available to unlock more parts of Tamriel.
Video gamers have been talking about the possibility of a 6th main version release of the game series. However, the Elder Scrolls 6 Release Date has not yet been announced.
